I’d never owned a wool jacket before, but this Spencer Dutton 1923 beige wool one blew me away. The cotton shell feels soft yet rugged, and the soft lining keeps me warm. Button‑front and turn‑down collar look sharp, too. Fit was spot on, my new favorite cold-weather go‑to.

I didn't see that this was dry clean only and threw it in the wash with some of my other Universal Standard machine washables. It's different now. I'm trying to make peace with that. Let my failure be a warning. But I did love this jacket, and I got a ton of compliments on it.

I was too young in the '80s when these jackets were first popular, but I definitely remember them. I'm so glad they're back! The fit is great; I'm a solid S in outerwear (petite, 28" waist) and the S fits perfectly with a little room.
